Important Notice – Trinidad & Tobago Shipments

Effective September–December 2025

 

Caribbean Cargo DC will continue servicing Point Lisas (Plipdeco) as the only port of entry for all shipments to Trinidad. Due to heavy peak season congestion at Plipdeco, customers should expect clearance delays through the remainder of 2025. The following agent information applies for all shipments to Trinidad:

Alternative Clearance Option – Swissport

To ease congestion, our agent is offering customers the option to clear cargo through Swissport Transit Shed, located near Piarco International Airport.

• Additional cost: approx. $25–$50 USD
• Note: Customers choosing this option will be guided by our local agent on next steps.
• Required by Swissport Customs (effective Sept. 2025):
  • Copy of a utility bill (both consignee & authorized agent)
  • Copy of valid national ID (both consignee & authorized agent)

 

Summary for Customers

• All shipments currently go through Plipdeco – Point Lisas.
• Swissport option available (extra $25–$50, near Piarco).
• Expect delays due to peak season congestion.
• More port options may open in 2026.

 

NOTE: Starting January 2026, we will review expansion options for Port of Spain & Tobago.
